That means, "Boats and bridges and locks - Oh my!" in French!

 

While we were in Paris we went to lots of parks.  This is a picture of part of the Louvre museum, as seen from the Tuileries Park.

The Tuileries is a very large park that spreads out in front of the Louvre.  You can even see the Eiffel Tower from the park.

 

There was a little man-made completely-circular pond where you could rent colorful wooden boats from a little old man.

 

 

He would give you a stick and you push the boat toward the center of the pond and it would catch the wind and sail to the other end of the pond. 

 

 

Then you would have to run to the other side of the pond to catch your boat on the other side, and then push it back.

From the Tuileries we walked down the Champs Elysees toward the Arc de Triomphe.

Underneath the Arc there is a fire that is constantly burning.  It is called the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and is in memory of all the soldiers who died in World War I and II who were never identified.

On to the Bridges....Here are some bridges.

One day we painted watercolors on a bridge.

 

Then we went shopping.

 

Here is the good stuff.  These are called Macarons and they are yummy French cookies.  Enjoy! (or not...sorry you can not taste them.)

This is where Napoleon's tomb is.  We didn't go inside, so we did not enjoy.  Maybe next time.

 

Here is another bridge.  And what do you know?  You can see the Eiffel Tower from here, too!  That's the cool thing about Paris.  It's almost like you can see it anywhere!  Always reminding you, "Yes!  I'm in Paris!"

 

The only place I can think of that you can't see the Eiffel Tower is when you are on the Metro.  And that would be because you are underground.

Speaking of bridges....and LOCKS.  Do you see that colorful blobby mass on the bridge behind Notre Dame Cathedral?  Let's zoom in.  And.....wait for it....

We added to the wall of locks.  We really had to search hard for a place to put our locks onto the bridge.

 

You know how you're supposed to put a lock on if you are in love with somebody else and then throw the key into the river to say that your love will never be unlocked? 

 

Well....I will love myself forever. :)

 

Here is a cat.  We call him Pierre.  He visited our Chalet every morning.

So....getting back on track after the random cat sightings...

 

More boats and bridges. 

 

As you can guess, this is not a boat or a bridge.  It is the Eiffel Tower.  BUT....the key here is, this is what it looks like at night FROM A BOAT.

 

We took a Seine River cruise one evening and it was pretty fun.  We got yummy crepes on the boat, too.  Crepes make any boat journey awesome.

Our favorite...the Lock Bridge.  (Actually called the Pont de l'Archevêché).  If you look really closely to the left of the light pole, you *might* see our locks.
